Hi
I treated the adult population; however, it does carry a similar catheter break-in principle. If the catheter is not used right away, we will only flush it again on D7 to D9 to check for catheter patency. We do not use any heparinised solution to lock the catheter between the duration. So far, our catheter patency is good, and no report of fibrin or blockage has been seen. However, we have to ensure that the catheter patency is good and the catheter placement is correct post-surgery.
