Is having a tracheostomy a contra indication for doing PD. any concerns regarding catheter infection etc

Having a tracheostomy is not a contraindication for doing peritoneal dialysis.   I was not able to find any data specifically related to infection, or PD in general, in individuals with a tracheostomy.  There are no specific recommendations for this patient population in any of the ISPD guidelines. Infection prevention and exit site care should be as per standard of care.
