Questions About PD
1 answer
Laminar flow is a positive air flow system to propel potential hazardous dust or particles from entry to an area of which a strict dustless environment is to be maintained. Eg. it is used in the bone marrow transplant unit; in the operating theatre, a single direction air flow system is employed as well; but in these two units, antiseptic techniques for injection, sterile procedures are required.
To conclude, laminar flow could not replace the antiseptic techniques for injection port preparation prior to adding medications into the PD fluid bags.
