I believe the literature is unclear. Some may consider PEG and PD incompatible due to risk of peritonitis. I do not think it is but would feel you need to rest until risk of leak is minimised. I would avoid PD for at least 2 weeks but maybe even 4 if you can. If patient develops peritonitis I would not restart PD again.

From the Pediatric literature it is generally recommended to do the PEG before commencement on PD. If the patient is already on PD it is recommended you do  an open gastrostomy placement. The ISPD 2012 PAeditric infection guidelines recommend you use antibacterial and fungal prophylaxis. PD is generally only stopped for 24-72 hours
