There is little data from the literature on the recommendation for duration of treatment. Basically, reports of tamoxifen in EPS rarely mentioned how long tamoxifen was kept after subsidence of symptoms. The treatment itself is rather empirical. In general, at least 3-6 months after subsidence of symptoms, longer duration is needed for more severe disease and patient maintained on peritoneal dialysis. Use of CRP may be helpful to guide the duration of treatment.
