Has anyone calculated the amount of albumin lost per exchange in PD patients in order to replace the losses. I still have a problem getting the serum albumin levels to goal. Any ideas?

If the patient has had a 24 hour collection there should have been an albumin concentration in the effluent which you can multiply by the 24 hour effluent volume to calculate the 24 hour albumin loss. However, I don’t think it is as simple as replacing this loss by oral intake. Analogous to hypoalbuminemia of nephrotic syndrome not responding to increased protein intake in a way.
