the ” classic ” PET was developed by Z. Twardowsky, and published 1987.
it is done in 4 hs with a 2 lt 2.5% bag.
Since many years from now, there exists a ” MODIFIED” PET, comming from the Netherland´s group, Dr. R. Krediet´s group. This Pet uses a 4.25% or 3.87 ( europe),instead of 2.5% bag to allow to define the presence or absence of ultrafiltration failure , UFF( less than 400 cc at 4 hs).
Lastly, we know the ” minipet”, which was established by Dr. V. Lamilia in Italy. This test is done in only 1 hour and is useful among others to determine free water transport ( Acquaporins)
