There are 2 schools of thought: one adovcate removal of Tenchkoff catheter (TC) as early as possible, and the other do not. My experience suggest reomval of TC is often not necessary. The TB peritonitis just respond to standard anti-TB treatment regime slowly, and takes around 2 weeks for WCC resolution. The treatment should be continued for 9 to 12 months. Most use a 4 drug regime. Modified the dosage of certain anti-TB drugs as recommended. Most patients respond well though gradual.
