SUMMARY:Shared Decision-Making (SDM) Leadership Academy
DESCRIPTION:The Academy was co-developed by more than twenty Korean nephrologists and is delivered using a unified agenda and standardized educational materials. From May to October 2025\, it was implemented across four regions in Korea using the same structured curriculum. The program has already received endorsement from both the Korean Society of Peritoneal Dialysis (KSPD) and the Korean Society of Nephrology (KSN)\, and two of the session recordings are publicly available through the KSN e-learning platform. \nThe SDM Academy is the first program in Korea to integrate research evidence (SDM_ART) with a standardized educational curriculum\, thereby establishing a foundation for nationwide dissemination. SUMMARY:27th Annual Conference of the Peritoneal Dialysis Society of India (PDSI)
DESCRIPTION:Founded in 1997\, PDSI has played a pivotal role in advancing peritoneal dialysis practice\, education\, and research across India. The conference is expected to attract approximately 300 participants\, including nephrologists\, urologists\, internists\, surgeons\, PD nurses\, and technicians. \nThe scientific program will feature educational sessions led by national and international experts\, including Prof. Ramesh Khanna (University of Missouri\, USA) and Prof. Talerngsak Kanjanabuch (Chulalongkorn University\, Thailand). Hands-on workshops covering peritoneal dialysis catheter insertion techniques and mannequin-based training will complement the academic program. The conference has also been accredited by the Bihar Medical Council and will provide educational credit points to participants.

SUMMARY:ISPD 2026 Congress Cape Town (South Africa)
DESCRIPTION:The theme of the Congress is “Integration: PD for Everyone\, by Everyone\, Everywhere”. For way too long\, peritoneal dialysis has been considered as a dialysis modality for some patients\, by some nephrologists\, for some period of time. As such\, the therapy has been much less available to patients with kidney failure than in-center hemodialysis. Yet\, experiences worldwide belie that perception of the therapy. Clinical outcomes with PD in countries with “PD first” public policies\, such as in Hong Kong and Thailand\, are comparable to or better than those seen with in-center hemodialysis. Rapid expansion in access with “PD-favored” public policies\, such as in the United States\, has been remarkably successful\, effective and safe. Moreover\, the simplicity of the therapy could make kidney replacement treatment available to millions worldwide that presently don’t have such access. \nWe welcome the full range of health professionals to participate in the Congress. The program is geared to serve the entire multidisciplinary team involved in the care of patients undergoing PD around the world – physicians\, advanced health practitioners\, nurses\, dietitians\, and social workers.
