Call for ISPD General Assembly 2026

As you know, the ISPD 2026 Congress will take place from 29 September to 03 October at the Cape Town International Convention Center (CTICC). On behalf of the ISPD President, Dr Rajnish Mehrotra, I would like to invite all ISPD members to attend the ISPD General Assembly. You can find below all the necessary information:

PROPOSED CHANGES TO THE ISPD BYLAWS
Regarding point 6, you can find below a summary of the changes proposed to the bylaws by the ISPD Executive after discussion and approval of the ISPD Council.
- Updating bylaws language
- Make the language of the Bylaws gender-neutral
- Remove references to “Initial Council Members” and “Initial Officer Members”
- Election of officers and terms of Council Members
- The Treasurer is no longer required to be a resident of the USA.
- The maximum total term for the Treasurer and Secretary is limited to 6 years.
- Any member of the Council who is elected as ISPD Officer must step down from the Council at the time of their election.
- Officers to be elected before the General Assembly (GA) by the ISPD members and announced during the GA.
- Change in composition of Council
- Align Council representation with the current ISPD Chapters/regions, with two members from each region.
- Introduce up to two at-large Council Members to allow the Council to fill some gaps in knowledge and representation as needed.
- Adjust the Council size limits according to approved changes
- Change in length of term for Council members
- Council Member (CM) term length changed from 4 to 2 years.
- The maximum consecutive term duration changed from 8 to 6 years.
- Finance and records
- Replace the mandatory biennial audit requirement with audits upon Council request.
- Patient Engagement
- Recommendation for the addition of a Patient Advisory Board.
