Prof. Philip Kam-Tao Li (Hong Kong)

Prof. Philip Kam-Tao Li is the Chief of Nephrology & Consultant Physician of the Department of Medicine and Therapeutics at the Prince of Wales Hospital (PWH), Hong Kong. He is also the Honorary Professor of Medicine and the Director of the Carol & Richard Yu Peritoneal Dialysis Research Centre at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Prof Li was the President of the Organizing Committees for the 11th Congress of ISPD 2006 in Hong Kong and of the World Congress of Nephrology 2013 respectively. He is the Chairman of the Central Renal Committee of Hospital Authority of Hong Kong. He serves as the Vice President (Education) for the Hong Kong College of Physicians. He is the Co-Chair of International Steering Committee for World Kidney Day.
He has published over 470 original and review articles in peer-reviewed journals, 3 books and 20 book chapters. He has given lectures to over 150 international congresses and meetings. His research interests in PD include Residual Renal Function, Cardiovascular Disease, Connectology, Peritonitis, Biocompatible solutions and Adequacy.
He has won several awards including: Sir David Todd Award of the Hong Kong College of Physicians, Richard Yu Endowment Award of the Hong Kong Society of Nephrology, the Chief Executive’s Commendation for Community Service, HKSAR and the International Distinguished Medal 2012 of the National Kidney Foundation, USA.
