International Society of Nephrology (ISN): ISN and ISPD share many goals in ensuring the development of peritoneal dialysis throughout the world, wherever it is an appropriate form of renal replacement therapy. In 2011, they agreed to formalize their partnerships and start working together on specific projects.
International Pediatric Nephrology Association (IPNA): IPNA believes that all children deserve to be healthy and receive optimal treatment and care for kidney disease regardless of their economic level or political choice. IPNA facilitates the exchange of knowledge and expertise without barriers, and is committed to international understanding.
IPNA and ISPD work together to improve the practice of pediatric PD worldwide. We also are partners in the Saving Young Lives program.
EuroPD: ISPD and EuroPD share many joint goals in ensuring the development of Peritoneal Dialysis wherever it is an appropriate form of renal replacement therapy. ISPD and EuroPD will organise joint congresses in Europe. The next ISPD-EuroPD Congress will take place in 2028.
European Renal Association (ERA): Sessions/CMEs at each other’s Congresses; visibility at each other’s Congresses and on the respective Journals; direct links to the respective Societies and its activities.
Sociedad Latinoamerica de Nefrología e Hipertensión (SLANH): The SLANH contributes to the diffusion of nephrology and hypertension knowledge in the Latin American region through congresses, meetings, publications, collaboration groups, and different educational initiatives, open for doctors and other health professionals.
The ISPD and the SLANH have agreed to work together to impulse the knowledge and practice of high-quality PD in the Latin American region.
African Association of Nephrology (AFRAN): The ISPD and AFRAN have been working together since 2024 to enhance peritoneal dialysis across Africa and to expand its availability in more countries on the continent. AFRAN collaborates closely with the ISPD African Chapter on educational initiatives, including the Senegal project, and will serve as a vital partner for the success of the ISPD 2026 Congress in Cape Town.
Asian Pacific Society of Nephrology (APSN): The ISPD and APSN share the objective to grow and advance peritoneal dialysis across the Asia Pacific, which is the region with the most patients on PD and also the ISPD Chapter with more members. Collaboration with APSN involves education, advocacy, and research.
Registre de Dialyse Péritonéale de Langue Française (RDPLF): The French-Speaking Registry of Peritoneal Dialysis is a scientific society, created in 1988, with the goal of helping dialysis teams evaluating and improving the quality of care given to ESRD patients treated at home (Peritoneal Dialysis and Home Haemodialysis), of promoting research in that field and publishing its results.
The agreement signed with RDPLF covers the translation of our Guidelines, in its journal and on the PDI (or ISPD) website.
Capítulo LatinoAmericano de Diálisis Domicialiaria (LACDD): The ISPD and LACDD work together on educational initiatives on the Latin American countries, from the organisation of joint webinars to the translation of ISPD educational content.
Sociedad Española de Nefrología (SEN): The ISPD is committed to supporting the SEN’s objective of enhancing home dialysis in Spain and advancing the competencies of Spanish healthcare professionals in peritoneal dialysis. Furthermore, the SEN leads the initiative to ensure that the ISPD Guidelines are accessible in Spanish, with translation provided by SEN and SLANH members, in order to facilitate access to these important resources.
Taiwan Society of Nephrology (TSN): The ISPD supports TSN in its ambitious objective of achieving 18% patients in peritoneal dialysis by 2035. The ISPD supported TSN, helping them in the development of their white paper.
Korean Society of Nephrology (KSN): The ISPD supports KSN in its commitment to grow PD in the country. This collaboration and support involve educational resources, advocacy, and the organisation of the 2027 Asia Pacific Chapter Meeting of the ISPD in Busan.
