PD University
The Wake Forest University School of Medicine designates this educational activity for a maximum of 17.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. The Wake Forest University School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Please see the course schedule for 2008 below:

PD University - a 2.5 day course open to nephrologists. Course objectives will cover a wide range of topics including, but not limited to the following:
  • Outcomes in PD and clinical considerations for patient selection
  • Kinetic modeling and prescription management
  • Fluid management in patients on PD
  • Reducing and managing infectious and non-infectious complications of PD
  • Elements of success in a PD program

HD/PD University topics may also include:
  • Access Issues related to Home Hemodialysis
  • Risks and Benefits of Home Hemodialysis
  • Infrastructure Related Issues Related to PD and Home Hemodialysis

Previous faculty that has participated in this meeting has included: John Burkart, Joanne Bargman, Tom Golper, Steve Guest, Rajnish Mehrotra, Martin Schreiber, and Isaac Teitelbaum.

Courses will be offered on the following dates:
PD University:
September 7-8, 2008 - Vancouver, BC
October 5-7, 2008 - New York, NY

PD/HD University:
December 7-9, 2008 - Orlando, FL
