Dr. Wai-Kei Lo is immediate past-chairman of the ISPD. He is currently the Consultant Physician and director of renal service of Tung Wah Hospital, and the Hon. Clinical Associate Professor of the University of Hong Kong. After graduation from the University of Hong Kong in 1980, his interest in peritoneal dialysis budded when he participated in the first PD program in Hong Kong as a resident in 1982. The subsequent blooming of PD in Hong Kong and his joining the University of Hong Kong in 1990 provided him more clinical and research experience in PD. He has over 100 publications and is the author of several book chapters in the field of peritoneal dialysis.

Mandate

The remit of the committee is to arrive at a slate of nominations to replace those officers and councillors retiring, in keeping with the bylaws of the society.

On behalf of the Council, a nominating committee shall submit a written list of candidates to the membership at least one hundred eighty (180) days before the General Assembly. Any Voting Member may then within sixty (60) days submit to the Secretary/Treasurer alternative nominees with a written brief resume of qualifications and verification of willingness to serve. This nomination must be supported by at least ten (10) Members of the Corporation. At least sixty (60) days before the General Assembly, a final written list of the nominees shall be sent to Voting Members.

Membership

This committee will be chaired by the immediate past President and have at least three other representatives with a wide geographical distribution (Americas, Europe/Middle East, Africa/Asia) and nursing representation making it a committee of four members.
