Election StatementI would like to continue to dedicate my efforts to promote PD as a cost effective quality dialysis both regionally and internationally. Sitting in the Council of ISPD will allow me to further my mission. Combining good clinical and research data into appropriate socioeconomic perspectives and bringing to the world through education and lectures are my priorities. Biography
Olivier Devuyst is Full Professor of Physiology and Medicine at the Université catholique de Louvain (UCL) Medical School in Brussels, Belgium, and has a joint appointment in the Division of Nephrology, St.-Luc Academic Hospital of the UCL. He heads the laboratory of Nephrology at UCL, investigating the pathophysiology of inherited kidney diseases and the molecular mechanisms of water and solute transport across the peritoneal membrane. O. Devuyst has been the laureate of several international prizes and has been elected at the Royal Academy of Medicine of Belgium in 2005. He is Associate Editor of Peritoneal Dialysis International and Nephrology Dialysis Transplantation and member of the Editorial Board of Kidney International. |
