Dr. K. S. Nayak is a pioneer in the field of PD in the Asian region, having initiated in excess of 800 patients on this treatment till date. He is Director of an extremely successful PD Unit at Global Hospitals, Hyderabad, India. The PD Unit at his Center is a major PD training center for Nephrology fellows and nurses.
Dr Nayak is a founding member and Past-President of the Peritoneal Dialysis Society of India (PDSI).He was the Organising Chairman of the 2nd Asian Chapter Meeting of ISPD (Hyderabad-January 2005).
He has numerous international publications and has special interest on the issue of affordability and adequacy of PD in the Asian population, PD program protocols including issues such as ‘Home Visits’, KPI’s for PD Unit, ‘PD Telephony & Internet’ among others.
