Bradley Warady (USA)

Dr. Bradley A. Warady is Chief of Nephrology and Director of Dialysis and Transplantation at the Children's Mercy Hospital, and Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine. Dr. Warady's clinical and research focus is end-stage renal disease with particular emphasis on peritoneal dialysis. He established the Pediatric PD Study Consortium and he is a member of the Board of Directors of the North American Pediatric Renal Transplant Cooperative Study (NAPRTCS). He currently directs or co-directs research projects on a number of topics including: chronic kidney disease in children; peritonitis in children on dialysis; intravenous iron therapy in pediatric patients receiving hemodialysis and anemia management of children on dialysis. He co-edited the books "CAPD/CCPD in Children" and "Pediatric Dialysis" and he has published more than 200 articles and book chapters. Dr. Warady also serves as an Associate Editor for PDI and sits on the Editorial Board for Pediatric Nephrology.

 

Mandate

  • To advise the ISPD on matters relevant to peritoneal dialysis in the pediatric population.
  • To liaise with other ISPD committees in order to help them achieve their mandate, particularly the ISPD membership and Education Committees to ensure their plans meet the needs of the pediatric community.
  • To advise the ISPD congress organizers on the development of the program.

Membership

Generic Membership

  • A minimum of 4 members (including the Chair) with broad geographic representation and at least one nurse.

Chair

  • As appointed by Council (if there is a pediatric member of council, this person should serve as the Chair).
