Dr. Yong-Lim Kim is Professor of Medicine and Nephrology Division at Kyungpook National University Hospital, Daegu, South Korea. A strong advocate of research and development, he currently serves as Director of the Clinical Research Center for ESRD supported by the Ministry of Health & Welfare, Korean Government. In addition, he is Director of the Training and Education Committee of Korean Society of Nephrology. He received his MD summa cum laude in 1985 from Kyungpook University, Daegu. He was certified by the Korean Board of Nephrology in 1993 and studied in the post doctoral research fellowship at the University of Missouri, Columbia for one year in 1996. He leads the PD unit which holds more than 200 PD patients. General areas of interest include ESRD, peritoneal fibrosis, long-term preservation of peritoneal membrane, solution biocompatibility and renal fibrosis. He has published and co-authored over 130 papers of which about 60 have been published in international peer reviewed journals.

PD community as an enticement to membership in the ISPD
