What is opinion about CCPD patients letting their pets sleep with them at night ? I have a new PD patient who has developed a tunnel infection and the only thing I can point to is that she was letting her dog sleep with her. I holding out hope that I can salvage the catheter but it does not look good.

It is generally not recommended for pets to sleep in the bed with patients. In this regard, cats are more problematic than dogs, but it is best not to have pets sleep with patients.
