Currency and Exchange

The Chinese yuan (CNY) is official currency in China. At present, USD1 is about CNY 6.8. Currency can be exchanged at the airport, major hotels and banks. All major credit cards are accepted in China.

Electricity

The electrical voltage is 220 volts. Most hotels provide build-in converters.

Tipping

Tipping is not generally expected in China, except for some tour guides, hotel porters, and housemaids.
